2. Grantham Street road crossing (39km) - 6:30:00

Marathon walkers are welcome, however the 'walking' will not be policed.  The purpose of this event is to encourage everyone to participate and finish, whether walking, running, or a combination of both.

There will be pace runners to assist competitors in reaching their goal.  Each pacer will be wearing a balloon with a pace time on it. Pace runners' times will be confirmed at a later date.

If your goal is to achieve a particular time, please seek out the appropriate pace runner and attempt to maintain his/her pace.

We are seeking volunteer pace runners.  If you can assist us, please make contact via our Facebook page or Email.

We have water stations located approximately every 5-7 km, please refer to the course map.  There will be supplies of water and electrolytes.

Everyone who completes the Kirikiriroa Marathon, including all team participants, will receive a finisher's medal to recognise their hard work and achievement

The focus of this event is predominantly to encourage people to complete the marathon event, particularly those who have not run this distance previously.  There will be no prizegiving, but there will be a social gathering after the event, at a venue/time to be confirmed.

Finish times will be provided by Trident ResultsTiming and published on both our website and theirs. Official timekeeping ends seven hours after race start. Results will be posted on the website as soon as possible.

Parking is available via entry Gate One and Gate Two of the Hamilton Gardens, off Cobham Drive.  Please follow the instructions of our parking marshals.  Be aware that both of these entry points will be heavily congested for one hour after the start of the event, as they are part of the course.  Parking is also available in surrounding streets. Please refer to location maps.

Please give due consideration to local residents and other Hamilton Gardens visitors when parking.

There are no road closures in place as the course predominantly follows the river trail.  All roads are open to traffic AND NORMAL ROAD RULES MUST BE OBEYED.  Please follow instructions of marshals when crossing Grantham Street & Pukete Road and watch for traffic at all times.
